Applications for THERE IS NO MOST BEAUTIFUL SOUND II are now open, and due on July 20th, 2013.
Submit now at [email protected].
Composers interested in writing for and performing at the next No Most Beautiful Sound concert should write a work of up to fifteen minutes length, in any style. Longer works can be submitted, but will receive less and less consideration the greater their length exceeds the limit. It is recommended that you write within the limit, or submit (alongside the full version) an abridged version of your work.
Installation works will also be accepted, for those wishing to exhibit works of sound art, invented instruments or music games, but should be aware of the limitations of the space when submitting.
It is considered the responsibility of the composer to organise musicians and rehearsals - performers that you have already organised and rehearsal dates that have already been established should go on the application. However, to assist those looking to write for larger ensembles or requiring certain specific instruments, we are working on compiling a list of musicians who have claimed their availability for the concert and are willing to rehearse and play. The list of performers will be uploaded soon, and then consistently updated as more performers are discovered, for the benefit of all composers submitting works.
Composers are welcome to contact [email protected] to inquire further if more players are required, but should not expect this to yield results - though we will do our best!
